Celebrity Baby Showers

Celebrity Baby Showers are a great way of picking up tips and ideas on themes, gifts, food, decorations and entertainment for your own Baby Shower. Baby Showers are very fashionable in the circles of Hollywood’s rich and famous and have been held by Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Gwyneth Paltrow, Katie Holmes and Angelina Jolie, to name a few!

Here are a few of my favourite celebrity Baby Showers to help inspire you!

Actress Alyssa Milano, who stars in the TV series Charmed, held a Baseball themed Baby Shower. Alyssa is an avid L.A. Dodgers fan and invited 35 friends, including actor Colin Hanks, actress Holly Robinson Peete and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey to the Dodger Stadium to celebrate her pregnancy.

I liked this theme as it gives a host of ideas. OK, Baseball isn’t popular in Ireland but Football is and don’t forget that some Dad’s have Baby Showers too! Different venues for Baby Showers are becoming fashionable and although the traditional place to hold a Baby Shower is within the home you could hold your Baby Shower at your favourite restaurant or by taking it to a sports event. There are lots of Show Jumping, Motorsport and Horse Racing events on during the year and you could organise a Baby Shower picnic.

January Jones, who starred alongside Liam Neeson in the film Unknown, and also in X-Men: First Class, held a Beach themed Baby Shower in Malibu, California. Food was served on the patio overlooking the sea shore and January dipped her toes in the water with friends whilst walking along the sand.

My own Baby Shower was held in the garden with a BBQ so perhaps my heart has a soft spot for January’s Beach Baby Shower. I think it is a lovely way of celebrating your expected Summer baby and why not make the most of the glorious countryside around us?

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hosted a Baby Shower at the Beverly Hills Hotel with the theme based on the film The Wizard of Oz (Nicole’s favourite movie from childhood). A yellow brick road led guests to the reception room and the hired band played songs from the film. The tables were decorated with ruby red slipper and Toto centre pieces. There was even a Munchkin Land with giant bowls of sweets and colourful cocktails!

I was sold on Munchkin Land here I am afraid! The Wild Safari range at BabyShower.ie is great for this sort of theme and you could have blue or pink shades of sweets, cakes, desserts and drinks!

Other great Baby Shower ideas hatched by celebrities have been to offer pedicures, manicures, massages and knitting lessons!
