A Book Themed Baby Shower
We are lovers of this baby shower theme-who doesn’t love books? And for the Mom to be who enjoys her literature in any free moment that she has, this is honestly the most perfect theme that ever was! This book themed baby shower is definitely a favourite in our books…excuse the pun! Hee hee! 😉
What a treasure it will be for baby to have a Mummy who can introduce him/her to all of the classics…maybe some Dr. Seuss! Nothing like Green Eggs & Ham to induce laughter on a rainy day. Or for some adventure, maybe Enid Blyton. Personally, can’t resist Roald Dahl…we have to experience chocolate in some way, even when we have none to eat. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, here we come! 🙂
How To Do It?
Games
Games and gifts wise, a sweet and memorable idea is to ask each guest to bring along a favourite book which they enjoyed as little ones. Each guest then presents their chosen book to the mummy to be and gives a book review with a personal touch. What a wonderful way for mummy to be to enjoy time with baby. You are never too young to start developing a diverse vocabularly so you can be a lawyer and tell Mom why you should be allowed that chocolate treat. 😉
Something funny would be to have a book review game where you all have to read children’s book and review them. Pick your selection of books from a diverse range of shops, and get started!
Decorations
One of the most gorgeous ideas we have seen is this beautiful bunting that you could hang over the buffet table. Best thing about this bunting is that it is something you can make yourself using any of her favourite books-childhood or otherwise! 🙂 Even children’s books bunting like this one here. You can be so creative in your materials here-using old books or new, if you wish, and because they are neutral as such, you can use them for birthday parties later on also. 🙂 We give this book bunting the thumbs up!
We Didn’t Forget Book Themed Baby Shower Food
We remember these important kind of details…we love our food here in the babyshower.ie office! Food, glorious food, cream, jelly and custard….all things nice!
A fantastic way to list a menu, if you are taking that option is to show the menu on the items on the spines of some books…very cute and original! 🙂
Dr Seuss is one of our favourites for a Book Themed Baby Shower, so naturally we found some delightful treats, savoury and sweet. Delicious green eggs and ham! For Peter Rabbit fans (who didn’t love those mischievous rabbits!), we found these fantastic healthier treats.
And have we found the cake for you…if you have a baker in the family, we suggest you hire them right now. Tasting session first, you know. You could adapt the idea of that cake for any books you like. Ice in the names of the mummy to be’s favourite books and ta da! And remember, more books=more cake. Top tip of the day. 😉
