Baby Showers are a lovely opportunity to gather everyone around the expectant Mummy To Be, and give some much needed support, in various forms. That can be a hug, a smile, some laughter with friends and family, some kind words-especially if this is her first child, some bonding moments with loved ones, some memories and thoughts which she can treasure when she is awake with her little one in the depths of night while the world is sleeping. Those are some of the reasons to have a Baby Shower.

Reason No. 1

What a fantastic opportunity to gather women from every generation-be they family or friends or both-into one room. Mothers from various backgrounds and generations can talk about their experiences of pregnancy and motherhood. And if the Mummy To Be would like to ask any of them for advice, here is a perfect opportunity. It can be a supportive yet enjoyable event.

Reason No. 2

Why not have a cake and some laughs while the Mummy To Be has some free time? Once baby arrives, she won’t have as much time to meet family and friends, so this is a great opportunity to catch up and relax somewhat. Pregnancy can be tough, full of aches and pains, and while it is happening, she will most likely still be working, taking care of her home. Some treats, games and laughs would be a perfect solution for any stress that she might be feeling. And it is quite a low maintenance party to organise-honest. 🙂

Reason No. 3

Some people think that they are being mean…which you are not. The people who are coming to your Baby Shower will most likely be family and close friends, who would ordinarily give you and baby some treats and gifts also. This is just formalising the Baby Shower event slightly, but always remember that it is something which you can personalise and make your own. It is a memorable event to hold as a celebration of you and baby.
