Meghan Markle celebrates mother’s day

Meghan Markle celebrates mother’s day.

It looks like all the planets aligned for the Royal couple. Baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, seventh in line to the English throne made his first public appearance on Mother’s day. Of course the Forget-Me-Not’s, favourite flower of his late grandmother, Princess Diana were in full bloom. The Sun shone and the Forget-Me-Knots made a spectacular back drop for the Royal baby.

How thoughtful and touching That Prince Harry should go to so much trouble and pay tribute to his mother, Princess Dianne by including her favourite flowers at the event. Mind you Prince Harry has form here as he picked and included the pale blue Forget-Me-Not’s in Megan’s wedding bouquet prior to their wedding last May. Perhaps the fact that he was so young when his mother Princess Diana was killed in a road accident in Paris on August 31st 1997, 22 years ago, touched a poignant string in his heart and made him a romantic softy. Or maybe that loving charming gene that was prevalent in Princess Di has dominated his Royal DNA. Whatever, he does appear to be an auld romantic at heart.

Mother’s day was such a fitting time for the tiny fragile Royal to make an outside appearance. Mother’s day is celebrated globally, principally in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Japan and indeed in most European Countries.

The Duke and Duchess and baby Archie, by their appearance on Mother’s day paid tribute to all mothers and mothers to be around the globe and not just Royal mothers.

We are mindful of the wonderful and touching words written by Nayyirah Waheed in her piece titled, “Lands”,

“My mother was my first country, the first place I ever lived”

Prince Harry said that he was “over the moon” with the arrival of baby Archie.

He and Meghan Markle tied the knot on May 19th 2018 in Saint George’s chapel in Windsor.

Prince Harry is seventh in line to the throne and Megan Markle is an American and previously worked as an actress and was best known for her role in the Canadian American legal drama, “Suits”.

The couple got engaged a year before the wedding.

The engagement ring was bespoke and made by the court Jewelers, Cleave and company. The ring had one large central diamond and two smaller ones from Princess Diana’s collection.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became engaged she subsequently was baptized and confirmed into the Royal religion, The Church of England at a ceremony at Saint James palace. After the couple announced their engagement Miss Markle began a year long process of becoming a British Citizen.

On the morning of the wedding, Prince Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, conferred on him the title of Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton and Baron Kilkeel. On her marriage to the Prince, Miss Markle became the Duchess of Sussex, Countess of Dumbarton and Baroness Kilkeel. The Archbishop of Canterbury officiated at the wedding.

600 guests celebrated the wedding at the palace. No politicians from either the UK or America were invited. To commemorate the wedding the Royal Mint produced an official £5 coin.

Baby Archie is well behaved by all accounts, according to his mother Meghan. She says he’s calm and has a sweet temperament. Prince Harry is not sure where he gets the calmness from.

He was born on May 6th at 5.26am and clocked into this world weighing 7lbs 3ozs.

They named him Archie which derives from Archibald, meaning genuine and bold or brave.

Harrison means son of Harry.

The royal baby has not been given a royal title but he could have it conferred on him at a later date when Charles becomes King.
